InfiniBand
InfiniBand is a network protocol heavily used in HPC and AI applications requiring high bandwidth, low latency processing. A key function that enables this is Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) which allows data transfer directly between the memory of remote systems, bypassing their CPU. This reduces processing overheads and system latency which is vital for AI workloads.

High Density Communication
AI networking requires cutting edge equipment to handle the massive amounts of data traffic. InfiniBand and high performance Ethernet protocols such as RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) drastically reduce latency in high throughput environments while features like Priority Flow Control (PFC) help reduce congestion and packet loss.
