100M BiDi SFP optical transceiver modules are designed for Fast Ethernet application. BiDi Transceivers use Bi-Directional technology which is a communication mode that processes data in both directions (send and receive) over optical fibre. Standard traditional transceiver modules use two fibres to transmit data; one for sending, and one for receiving). BiDi technology allows modules to transmit and receive data to and from the interconnected network devices via a single optical fibre. Please refer to SFP Technology Overview for more details.
