SFP -  ‘Small Form-Factor Pluggable’ transceivers are compact, hot-pluggable transceivers that superseded the now legacy XFP.

SFP data transfer rates can range between 10 Mbps to 1000Mbps some with 10/1000/1000 auto negotiation options (or 4Gbps Fibre Channel).

The SFP form factor offers both fibre and copper options. Copper is still used in many infrastructures but of course many enterprises are transitioning to fibre. Fibre optic SFPs support a more reliable cabling infrastructure which can transmit data further and can operate at higher bandwidth relative to copper. That said we at ATGBICS are still seeing high demand for our copper solutions and will continue to support our clients with this technology for some years to come. 1.25G SFP Transceiver

1.25G SFP optical transceiver modules are designed for Gigabit Ethernet, 1G Fibre Channel and SDH STM-8 application. Our 1000Base-T Copper transceivers are designed for Fast Ethernet 10/100/1000BASE-T over Cat 5/5e twisted pair cable. Note some products are fixed at 1000Mbps, others autosense 10/100/1000Base.
