2.5G SFP optical transceiver modules are designed for 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. WDM (Wavelength-division Multiplexing) transceiver modules include CWDM) Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) and DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) modules. CWDM transceivers enable connectivity between existing network equipment and CWDM Multiplexers/DeMultiplexers (Mux/DeMux). When used with CWDM Mux/DeMux, CWDM transceivers can increase network capacity by transmitting multiple data channels with separate optical wavelengths (1270 nm to 1610 nm) over the same single fibre. This increases network bandwidth and provides a cost-effective solution in long distance applications. Please refer to Fibre Channel Technology Overview for more details.
